Community & Safety
Terms of Use
These terms govern the worldwide Ampli-Fi website and iPhone app. They are written to be readable, but they form a binding agreement when you create an account or use the service.
Who we are and when these terms apply
These terms are between you and Owen Liversidge, trading as Ampli-Fi, a United Kingdom-based operator (referred to as “Ampli-Fi”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Our postal address is Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA, United Kingdom. You can contact us at feedback@amplifi.music.
By creating an account or using Ampli-Fi, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Community Guidelines. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.
Ampli-Fi is currently provided without a subscription charge. If paid features are introduced, their price and any additional terms will be shown before you buy them.
Age and worldwide eligibility
You must be at least 13 and must also meet any higher minimum age that applies where you live. If local law sets a higher age for social-media accounts or for agreeing to these terms, that higher age applies. Do not create an account if you do not meet it.
If you are under the age at which you can enter this agreement by yourself where you live, you may use Ampli-Fi only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. They should review these terms and the Privacy Policy with you and agree to your use of the service.
Signup asks whether you are 13–17 or 18 or over. You must choose the truthful band and correct it if it was selected wrongly. We may ask for a proportionate age-assurance step where law or a material safety risk requires one.
Ampli-Fi may restrict an account or access from a location if we reasonably believe the applicable age rule or another legal requirement is not met.
Your account
Provide accurate signup information, keep your email address available for important account messages, and protect your password. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account, create an account for someone else without authority, or use another person’s account.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from a security failure on our side. Tell us promptly at feedback@amplifi.music if you believe your account has been compromised.
The public nature of Ampli-Fi
Profiles, display names, biographies, locations you choose to provide, gear details, discussions, replies, images, and community activity may be public, visible without an account, indexed by search engines, and shared by other people. Do not post information you want to keep private.
Email addresses, passwords, the private age band, blocks, and account-level advertising choices are not intended to appear on public profiles.
Your content and the licence you give us
You keep ownership of the text, images, profile material, and other content you post. You are responsible for it and confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to post it and grant the licence below, including permission from people shown or identified in it.
When you post content, you give Ampli-Fi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, technically format, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Ampli-Fi service. This includes displaying public posts to other users and through public web pages. The licence lets us use service providers for those purposes, but it does not transfer ownership to us or give us a general right to sell your music or use your work in unrelated advertising.
The licence ends when the content is removed from the service, except for reasonable technical caches and backups, copies another person made lawfully before removal, and retention needed for safety, evidence, or law. If you delete your account without first deleting public discussions or replies, the licence continues for those de-identified contributions so the surrounding conversations can remain readable.
Other members receive only the limited ability to view and interact with your content through the service. They do not gain ownership or permission to reuse it elsewhere merely because it is public on Ampli-Fi.
Rules for content and conduct
Follow the Community Guidelines. You must not post or facilitate unlawful material; child sexual exploitation or grooming; pornography; credible threats; harassment; hate; fraud; scams; impersonation; malicious code; privacy violations; intellectual-property infringement; or content that encourages suicide, self-harm, terrorism, or serious violence.
You must not scrape or harvest data, probe or bypass security, disrupt the service, evade a ban or block, automate activity without written permission, manipulate reports or engagement, reverse engineer where prohibited by law, or use Ampli-Fi in a way that unreasonably burdens its systems or other members.
Do not use another member’s content outside the sharing features provided by Ampli-Fi unless the owner or the law gives you permission.
Safety checks, reports, and moderation
Ampli-Fi uses high-confidence automated checks before some public text is posted, together with member reports and human moderation. No system finds every violation, and publication does not mean that we endorse or have reviewed the content.
We may reasonably label, limit, hide, preserve, or remove content and may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts to enforce these terms, respond to reports, prevent harm, protect rights or security, or comply with law. We will consider context, severity, repetition, and available evidence. Where applicable law requires it, we will tell the affected member the action, the main reason, and the available complaint options unless law or a material safety risk prevents that disclosure.
Use the Flag and Block controls for community issues. To complain about illegal content or challenge a moderation or account decision, use Feedback or email feedback@amplifi.music with the relevant link or identifier and an explanation. We will review good-faith complaints, but cannot promise a particular outcome.
We may preserve and disclose relevant information to regulators, emergency services, law enforcement, rights holders, or other appropriate bodies where required or permitted by law and reasonably necessary. This includes legally required reports concerning detected child sexual exploitation or abuse material.
Copyright and other rights complaints
If you believe content infringes your copyright, trade mark, privacy, or another legal right, email feedback@amplifi.music. Identify the protected work or right, the Ampli-Fi content and location, your contact details, why you believe the use is unauthorised, and confirm that the report is accurate and made in good faith.
We may ask for information needed to assess the complaint and may send relevant details to the member who posted the content. Knowingly false or abusive rights complaints may lead to account action and may create legal liability.
Advertising and third-party services
Ampli-Fi may display Google advertising, contextual advertising, and Ampli-Fi, partner, sponsor, or affiliate promotions. Personalised Google advertising is reserved for accounts declared 18 or over and is requested only when applicable Google consent choices and iPhone tracking permission allow it. Teen and undeclared accounts receive teen-treated non-personalised Google ads or house promotions.
Ads, member posts, and other parts of the service may link to third-party websites or services. Those third parties control their own content, purchases, terms, and privacy practices. A link does not mean Ampli-Fi guarantees or endorses everything offered there.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the profile settings. This permanently removes your Supabase sign-in account and clears personal profile details, uploaded images, location metadata, notifications, stars, blocks, push registrations, and reports you submitted as described in the Privacy Policy.
Public discussion and reply text remains attributed to “Deleted user” so conversations are not broken. Delete individual discussions or replies before deleting the account if you do not want their text to remain. Deletion may not immediately remove temporary caches, backups, security records, or information retained where law permits or requires it.
Service availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service, but Ampli-Fi may be interrupted by maintenance, faults, security work, provider outages, or events beyond reasonable control. We do not promise that every feature or item of user content will always be available.
We may add, change, or retire features for security, legal, technical, or product reasons. If a change materially reduces the core service or affects legal rights, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and explain any available choice, such as downloading information or deleting the account.
Our responsibility
User content and advice are supplied by community members. We do not guarantee that they are accurate, safe, original, or suitable for a particular purpose. Use appropriate judgement before relying on advice, meeting someone, following a link, or buying something.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights that consumer law does not allow us to remove. Subject to that, Ampli-Fi is not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms, for business loss arising from consumer use, or for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control.
Your mandatory legal rights are not affected.
Ending use of Ampli-Fi
You may stop using Ampli-Fi and delete your account at any time. We may restrict or end access for a serious or repeated breach, a material safety or security risk, a legal requirement, or discontinuation of the service. Where reasonable and safe, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal before or after the action.
Sections that logically need to continue after an account ends—such as ownership, the licence for retained de-identified contributions, legal evidence, responsibility, and dispute terms—continue only to that extent.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service, law, safety practice, or providers. We will show the effective date and version. For a material change, we will provide reasonable notice and seek renewed agreement where required. You may stop using the service and delete your account if you do not agree.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except that consumers keep any mandatory rights and protections provided by the law of the country where they live. Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from using courts or dispute routes available under mandatory local law.
Please contact feedback@amplifi.music first so we have a fair opportunity to resolve a concern informally. This does not take away your right to contact a regulator, use another lawful complaint route, or bring legal proceedings.
