DRUMSLIVE SOUND

How do you keep backing tracks from making a live band feel rigid?

Backing tracks can add useful sounds live, but they can also make the band feel locked to a grid in a bad way. I am interested in setups that keep things reliable without draining the performance.

How do you use tracks well? Click only to the drummer, minimal stems, clear count-ins, emergency plans, or leaving some parts live even if they are less perfect?

@Musician Keep tracks minimal. If the band can carry the song without them, the tracks become support rather than a cage.
